Illinois Medical Cannabis Patients Can Now View Their Remaining Allotment and Purchase History Online

The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) has introduced new features allowing registered medical cannabis patients and caregivers to view their remaining allotment and purchase history online.

As of October 26, 2026, patients and caregivers can access their Available Allotment & Purchase History through the state’s Medical Cannabis Patient Registry.

The new feature allows patients to see their remaining available allotment, along with cannabis purchases made within the past 30 days. Purchase records include when and where each purchase occurred, what products were purchased, and how much each item deducted from the patient’s certified allotment limit.

“Purchase History temporarily pulls and displays sales from the past 30 days. Your Available Allotment is calculated in real time and changes with your purchases. Your Allotment Limit and sales data are stored longer, but the Purchase History function shows only the past 30 days when accessed and the sales data are not stored in the Patient Registry.”

Registered caregivers can also access this information for their associated patients.

How to access the new features:

  1. Visit ilogin.illinois.gov and sign in to the Medical Cannabis Patient Registry.
  2. Navigate to the bottom of the Patient Dashboard.
  3. Select “Available Allotment & Purchase History.”

The state says it has also prepared a short instructional video and frequently asked questions to help patients navigate the new feature. I have been unable to locate the video.

In the past, patients seeking information about their remaining allotment generally had to rely on dispensaries to check their available balance. This new feature gives patients direct access to that information, making it easier to track purchases and manage their medical cannabis allotment.

Patients with questions are directed by the state’s Patient Portal User Guide to contact their local dispensary, email DPH.MedicalCannabis@illinois.gov, or call IDPH at 1-855-636-3688.

You heard it here first…

This development should come as no surprise to longtime listeners / readers of The Cole Memo.

In September 2025, I was first to share that Illinois was preparing to introduce a patient portal that would allow medical cannabis patients to view their purchase history, remaining allotment, and other account information without contacting a dispensary.

Those details were shared by Vaughn Bentley, Deputy Director of Cannabis Control at IDFPR, during a Medical Cannabis Advisory Board meeting I attended. You can read my original article here.
