we are about to watch a video of Governor pritsker responding to the lack of action on the cannabis Omnibus Bill and with regard to hemp regulation it looks like these statements were originally made or streamed online May 29th 2024 I’ll have a link to the full press conference if you’d like to watch it let’s watch the moments I’m referring to so I want to be clear here I’m going to try to boost the audio so that you can hear it a little bit better but some of the questions that have that were asked of Governor pritzer are hard to hear the first question that you’re about to hear is I don’t know that we’ve heard you take a stance on Delta 8 do you think it should be banned does it undermine the legal cannabis industry here’s Governor pritzker’s answer to this and more question I don’t know that we heard you take a stance on Del Gat do you think it should be banned it under candid industry I think it should be regulated well we I believe that an unregulated product like this which clearly caused some health problems um ought to be regulated by the state how the you know the implementation of specific parts of Regulation I wouldn’t jump into myself I’m not an expert but what I would say is that it’s clear that it is a um you know it is a not for medicinal purposes it’s not regulated the way the Cannabis is and yet it ends up on the market and people don’t really have uh you know there’s no restriction on who gets it how much they can get Etc so I I really believe that you know we need to step back and ask what is in the best interest of the health of kids and adults across the state and I think regulating it is proper all right so this next question is going to be about both hemp and cannabis it’s a little bit later in the press conference you’ll notice a little bit of a Time Hop here security industry in the State uh did not get across the finish line to get called in the house the bill to what uh regulate IND to stream canis omnus still he goes got called in the house so just your thoughts on that and uh have yeah I think obviously there are lots of things that didn’t make it to the Finish Line um but you know we got you know as far as I’m concerned everything that was a priority for me if you look back at the things that I talked about and put in my budget my budget address um all the priorities that I put in uh got passed uh and once again we have a responsible balanced budget so that was the press conference that’s what governor pritzer had to say with regard to cannabis and hemp policy once again if you’re looking to get a breakdown on what exactly happened I released a less than 15minute episode it’s episode number 98 I’ll have it in the show notes for this episode of the Cole memo I hope you found value in this episode of the Cole memo I’ll see you in the next episode take care [Music]
